Oh, what a night! Not Just Jazz is always a stand-out event on the Wesley calendar. As the name suggests, it is a night that celebrates the talents of singers and musicians across a wide range of genres and ages. During the evening, the audience was treated to spectacular performances from a range of students from Years 7-12, some of whom have been preparing and rehearsing since last year.

Sunny, Year 10

Unmissable in red velvet suit and sunglasses, Sunny (Year 10) delivered an outstanding performance of ‘I’m Feeling Good’ by Michael Bublé. Tahlia (Year 12) enchanted the audience with her powerful delivery of ‘Shy’ from the musical ‘Once Upon a Mattress’ while Ella (Year 12) left everyone spellbound with her solo performance on the piano of 'I Hear a Symphony' by Cody Fry and arranged by M. Guerrini.

The ‘Finale Medley’ – arranged by Daniel Gare - showcased the many amazing talent of our students with hits like ‘Dancing Queen’ and ‘You make me feel like dancing’ getting the audience up and moving; the atmosphere was electric!

Andrew, Year 12

Senior Guitar Ensemble’s performance of the haunting ‘Hotel California’ was also a crowd favourite and had the audience swaying and humming along.

Year 8 student Lenard (Senior Guitar Ensemble) said that he was ‘so nervous about playing with the Senior Guitar Ensemble for the first time, but excited too as gave him a real insight into what the next step of his musical career might look like.’

It was wonderful to see all our student’s hard work come to fruition. Don’t miss next year’s event!
