We invite you to consider leaving a gift in your Will to the Wesley College Foundation - the gift of an education.
Bequests are the most effective way of providing enduring benefits for future generations of Wesley Collegians without affecting your financial circumstances today. Bequests may be a share of an estate, cash, items of personal property or real estate.
Today, Wesley College offers a generous range of scholarships, provides state of the art facilities and develops innovative educational programs due to the generous contributions from our loyal benefactors and bequestors.
Including a gift in your Will to the Wesley College Foundation – however big or small – is a powerful way to leave a lasting and meaningful legacy. In making a Will we encourage you to seek legal advice. Wesley College has several experienced lawyers we can refer you to, should you require this service.
You can include a bequest to the Wesley College Foundation when you write your Will. If you already have a Will, you can add a codicil (a legal provision) to include the bequest.
Membership to the Sapere Aude Bequest Society
All bequestors are welcomed as members of The Sapere Aude Bequest Society and join a great coterie of alumni, current and past parents, staff and friends of the College. The Society provides an extensive and varied range of activities and events for members and their guests that reflect the rich educational, cultural and recreational life of the College and the broader community.
We like to acknowledge and give thanks to bequestors in the Bequest Society publications either in name or anonymously.
There is no minimum gift to become a member of the Sapere Aude Bequest Society, simply inform us that you have named the Wesley College Foundation as the beneficiary of a bequest in your Will.
If you are considering supporting the Wesley College Foundation with a bequest, we would be pleased to discuss how your gift can make a difference. All details of your bequest will be held in the strictest confidence.

"It was a very special and life-changing event for me when I received the scholarship to Wesley because it wouldn't have been possible for me to attend without this support. I was there on a music scholarship and the musical knowledge that I learned still resonates with me as a professional musician today. To those who left a bequest in their Will to be directed to scholarships, and to those who donated funds that enabled students like myself to have this start in life, I would like to say thank you on behalf of all of us. It literally changes lives"
"I was lucky enough to win a scholarship to become a boarder at Wesley, and I came down from Ballarat in 1944, a wartime year. I owe a debt to Wesley and the masters and boys of that Spartan era. I hope that more and more of such scholarships will be provided by generous donors."
"MLC Elsternwick is now happily settled as a campus of Wesley College. The school has always held a special place for me, as it has for many other students, and it is exciting to see a new generation of children and staff who cherish the rich history of the school and expansion in its educational, cultural and sporting programs. My gift will help support a scholarship for a child who may be unable to attend the Elsternwick campus without some financial assistance."
"I owe a lot to Wesley and what it has done for me. So when Alisa and I were reviewing our Wills, it was an easy decision for me to include Wesley in my estate. I simply wanted to give back to the school that had helped in my personal development and gave me a start in life."
"I am keen to support The Sapere Aude Bequest Society because I believe in the strong positive values and general contribution Wesley College brings to our community through the citizens it helps develop and the importance of that continuing. At a personal level my Wesley experience, and that of my family, has enriched our lives and the least we can do is give something back through benefaction and in other ways."
