The power of a strong coffee

Nick Stone (OW1999) with Patty Mills at a Bluestone Cafe

US-based Bluestone Lane and its founder Nick Stone (OW1999) are partnering with NBA Champion, three-time Olympian and proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Patty Mills. The partnership will see one of Australia’s greatest ever basketballers represent Bluestone as an official brand ambassador and share his passion for the iconic coffee brand in Australia and the US, as well as collaborate on innovative initiatives to improve the socioeconomic conditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia.

One such initiative is the Keriba Ged program kicking off in 2021/22. Keriba (meaning ‘Our’) and Ged (meaning ‘Home’ or ‘Place’) is a unique program that will give Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people the opportunity to develop premium business and hospitality skills at Bluestone Lane locations in the US. The program will open up pathways to live and train abroad, enabling the participants to  learn and develop valuable leadership, project management, networking, financial, communication and customer service skills.
