Honouring our legacy, empowering our future
On 1 May 2025 – coinciding with Founders’ Day – the Wesley College community came together for our inaugural Giving Day. In a powerful show of unity and generosity, alumni, parents, staff and friends across generations and campuses joined forces to celebrate Wesley’s founding vision and help shape our future.
In 24 hours, we raised $163,772 towards our 2025 Annual Appeal – a remarkable achievement that reflects the depth of connection, pride and purpose shared across the Wesley community.
We gratefully attribute part of this success to the support of our Matching Partner, Compnow. Their generous matching funds were exhausted in just a few hours – a testament to the passion and commitment of both Compnow and those who gave on the day.

Inspired by our founders’ vision
Giving Day wasn’t just about raising funds - the date was chosen with intention. Founders’ Day is a time to reflect on the principles that have guided our College since it was established in 1866 - a belief in a progressive and inclusive approach to teaching and learning and the transformative power of a holistic education.
It’s a day that honours those who ‘dared to be wise’ – our founders and the generations who followed – who gave generously to create opportunities for students to grow, thrive and contribute to our community, and to the world.
Their vision was courageous and forward-thinking and their legacy is evident in the vibrant, inclusive and future-focused Wesley College we know today. Giving Day called on the community to continue that legacy, to be part of the next chapter in Wesley’s story – and the response was extraordinary.

People, places and programs – our Giving Day priorities
The funds raised through Giving Day launched the 2025 Annual Appeal, ending 30 June. This year’s appeal focused on three key priorities, enabling community members to reflect and give to the area that was most meaningful to them:
Helping more young people of outstanding potential benefit from life-changing access to a Wesley education, regardless of personal circumstances. Our rigorous Scholarship Program awards a limited number of scholarships across academic excellence, general excellence, music and boarding.
Transforming learning spaces such as the Punt Road precinct and music and sports facilities, refreshing our historic buildings and preparing for future campus developments. Gifts can be allocated to the campus of your choice.
Supporting students facing financial challenges to participate in transformative educational programs, such as the Clunes experiential learning program and the Yiramalay Induction Program.
Every contribution – no matter the size – helps us invest in the people, places and programs that make Wesley exceptional.

Leaving a legacy:
St Kilda Road Parents’ Association supports Wesley’s future
A highlight of Giving Day 2025 was a generous $15,000 gift from the St Kilda Road Parents’ Association, directed toward buildings and facilities at the St Kilda Road Campus.
Led by President Michelle Marchiori, the Association has spent considerable time engaging with the parent community about how best to support Wesley’s evolving needs.
With many committee members also Old Wesley Collegians and many families with children in Senior School, the group’s focus is long-term: creating a legacy that will benefit future generations.
The Association hopes their gift will help catalyse the next stage of campus development at St Kilda Road – projects that honour the College’s heritage while embracing innovation and excellence.
Their contribution is a powerful reminder of what Giving Day represents: a community united by both a rich history and a shared commitment to Wesley’s future.
The impact of collective giving continues
While Giving Day has passed, its momentum continued through the 2025 Annual Appeal ending on 30 June. Many more meaningful contributions were made and helped support the programs and priorities that shape Wesley’s future.
We extend our deepest thanks to all who gave so generously on Giving Day - to Compnow for their vital role in bringing our vision to life and amplifying the day’s success, and to all who continue to support Wesley's journey.
Together, we are building a future worthy of our past, continuing a legacy of collective generosity – and ensuring that Wesley remains a place where every student can learn, grow and thrive.
