Wesley College Connection

For six years, Simon Ralton (OW1962), Andrew Tonkin (OW1962) and Michael Butcher (OW1962), together with a group of other music lovers, have been organising monthly lunchtime chamber music concerts at The Scots’ Church in Collins Street, Melbourne.

Music Matinee's Simon Ralton (OW1962), Michael Butcher (OW1962) and Andrew Tonkin (OW1962)

These live and free concerts are normally held on the first Tuesday of each month from 1.00pm to 1.50pm. They include piano and organ recitals, chamber groups and choirs.

Musicians are drawn from ANAM (Australian National Academy of Music), VCASS (Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School) and occasionally include such notables as Douglas Lawrence (organ) and Harold Fabrikant (OW1960) on piano. Music Matinee is an unaffiliated, not-for-profit association.

If you work in the CBD, or just visit from time to time, this is a delightful way to unwind over lunchtime in the beautiful setting of The Scots’ Church and enjoy outstanding musicianship. To be placed on the email list for concert notifications, please contact musicmatinee.org@gmail.com or visit www.musicmatinee.org

Wesley is delighted to support these enthusiastic OWs by hosting a fundraising concert and afternoon tea in the Cato Room at the St Kilda Road Campus at 2.00pm on Sunday 22 October, 2023. For booking information, visit the Music Matinee website closer to the event.
