Community Awards

Two of our Elsternwick community members have been acknowledged at the Glen Eira City Council Community Awards. Sharon Quick, President of Wesley Parents, was thrilled to receive a ‘Volunteer Recognition Award’ and Charlie Shields, Year 8 student, was nominated for ‘Citizen of the Year.’

As President of Wesley Parents Elsternwick, Sharon’s energy, drive, dedication and enthusiasm helps ensure the Elsternwick Campus is a connected community. Welcoming new families, speaking at information sessions, organising regular school fundraisers like the cupcake stall, planning community events such as the Trivia Night, Primary Disco and Staff Appreciation Lunch, and supporting milestone events like the Year 4, Year 6 and Year 9 Graduations are just some of the initiatives led by Sharon, a valued community member and worthy recipient of the ‘Volunteer Recognition Award’.

Elsternwick Campus student, Charlie Shields (Year 8), is a much-respected member of the Wesley College community. Highly motivated, committed to learning and actively involved across all areas of school and community life, Charlie makes the most of all learning opportunities available to him, and can be seen helping peers and teachers around campus on a daily basis. He has an endlessly positive outlook and is willing to give anything a go. Charlie is an exemplary member of our school and wider community, bringing energy and enthusiasm to everything he does. His good cheer and infectious optimism inspires everyone he meets.
