Speeding up the World Standings

Congratulations to speed machine Nana Owusu-Afriyie (OW2016) who, along with teammates Sally Pearson, Riley Day and Naa Anang, elevated Australia to sixth in the world after their blistering run of 44.62 in the 4x100m final of the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama recently. Equalling the highest placing by an Australian women's 4x100m team at a global meet since the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, the performance also secures their place at the 2019 Doha World Championships.

Nana has also been selected to represent Australia in the 200m event at the Oceania Area Championships in June, along with fellow OWs Jemima Montag (OW2016) who is competing in the 10km walk and Grace Goldsworthy (OW2018) in the U20 400m event.
